Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is slated to travel to Chicago to attend the 22nd Annual Ultimate Women’s Power Lunch on Friday, where she will join Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill. and Rep. Katherine Clark, D-Mass.
Bass is scheduled to return to the city later that evening, said Gabby Maarse, deputy press secretary to the mayor.
The mayor last traveled out of the city in April to speak at the African American Mayors Association Conference in Washington D.C., where she participated in what was billed as the “Big 4 Fireside Chat” with New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.
While in Washington, the mayor met with senior White House officials and members of Congress, including Vice President Kamala Harris at her official residence at Admiral’s House on the northeast grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory. Mayors also met with President Biden at the White House.
