The “Barbie” juggernaut continued at the box office this weekend, with director Greta Gerwig’s live-action story about the iconic Mattel toy fending off challenges from two new films to retain its top-grossing spot in North America, according to estimates released Sunday.

“Barbie” grossed $53 million Friday through Sunday in its third weekend in theaters, for a running domestic total of over $459 million, Comscore reported.

The giant-shark movie “Meg 2: The Trench” opened with $30 million to take second place.

“Oppenheimer” was third with $28.7 million in its third week.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” opened with $28 million for fourth place, followed by “Haunted Mansion,” which grossed $8.9 million in its second weekend in theaters in the United States and Canada.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “Sound of Freedom” ($7 million), “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One” ($6.4 million), “Talk To Me” ($6.2 million), “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani” ($1.529 million) and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” ($1.521 million).
