Military veterans and their family members from the San Gorgonio Pass will have an opportunity Saturday to obtain information about resources and services available to them that they may not be aware of, or are not utilizing.

Beaumont resident Anita Worthen is partnering with the Riverside County Office of Veterans Services and the city of Beaumont to host a “Veterans Expo” between 9 a.m. and noon at the Chatigny Community Recreation Center, 1310 Oak Valley Parkway.

“Explore the many services and benefits available to Veterans and their families through various agencies and organizations,” Worthen said in a statement. “Have your questions answered and update your knowledge about the current benefits available to you and your loved ones.”

Worthen was married to a Vietnam vet who served in the U.S. Army. She said it took her a long time to realize what services were available to her as the spouse of a deceased former service member.

Veterans planning to attend the event were asked to bring their DD214 forms, which establish proof of military service.

Details on healthcare, housing and death benefits, as well as other assistance, are expected to be provided during the event.

Anyone with questions was asked to call at 951-595-5396.
