A $600 million jackpot is up for grabs in Saturday evening’s drawing of the multi-state Powerball lottery.
No tickets were sold matching all six numbers in last Wednesday’s drawing, the 31st drawing since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
Three tickets were sold with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, including one in Georgia worth $2 million because the player utilized the Power Play option. The tickets sold in New York and Texas were each worth $1 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game.
Saturday’s drawing will take place at 8 p.m. Tickets sold after 7:05 p.m. are ineligible for that night’s draw, but are eligible for the following draw.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in 292.2 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.9.
The Powerball game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
An even larger jackpot is available in the nation’s other major multi-state lottery, the Mega Millions game. The grand prize for Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing is $875 million.
