A pedestrian was killed after they were struck by a semi truck near a freeway exchange in the Boyle Heights area.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the transition road from the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway and the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway at approximately 12:48 a.m. where they found the pedestrian in one of the freeway lanes, CHP Officer Erik Larsen told City News Service.
The pedestrian, whose name, gender or age was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene, Larsen said.
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of three lanes of the transition road while they conducted an investigation of the crash.
