The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent Monday to $4.563, a day after dropping two-tenths of a cent.
The average price is 4.2 cents less than one week ago, 19.3 cents less than one month ago and 65.3 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.931 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $4.483, a day after rising a half-cent. It is 3.7 cents less than one week ago, 18.7 cents less than one month ago and 68.7 cents less than one year ago. The Orange County average price has dropped $1.976 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 16th straight day, falling two-tenths of a cent to $3.443.
It is 2.9 cents less than one week ago, 9.5 cents less than one month ago and 40.3 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.573 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“With Tropical Storm Debby drifting up the I-95 corridor to visit the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, the threat to Gulf Coast oil production and refining is over,” said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager. “But tensions in the Middle East and some overseas economic uncertainty may mitigate any drop in oil prices.”
