The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $4.556.

A five-day streak of decreases totaling 3.2 cents ended Monday when the average price was unchanged, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped seven-tenths of a cent Wednesday.

The average price is 4.2 cents less than one week ago, 2 cents lower than one month ago and 99 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.931 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the ninth consecutive day, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $4.478. It has dropped 7.3 cents over the past nine days, including nine-tenths of a cent Wednesday. The streak follows four consecutive increases totaling 3.9 cents

The Orange County average price is 4.8 cents less than one week ago, 2.2 cents less than one month ago and 87.6 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.981 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the eighth consecutive day, decreasing a half-cent to $3.15, a day after dropping eight-tenths of a cent. It has dropped 5.4 cents over the past eight days, including eight-tenths of a cent Tuesday.

The national average price is 4.6 cents lower than one week ago, 60 cents less than a month ago, and 39.5 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.866 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
