The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Tuesday to its lowest amount since Dec. 31, 2022, decreasing 1.1 cents to $4.497, one day after increasing a half-cent.

Monday’s increase ended a run of 12 decreases in 13 days totaling 4.5 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price is 1.9 cents less than one week ago, 9.8 cents lower than one month ago and 67.3 cents below what it was one year ago.

The average price has dropped $1.997 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped to its lowest amount since Dec. 30, 2022, decreasing 1.5 cents to $4.399, following a four-day streak of increases totaling 1 cent, including two-tenths of a cent Monday. It is seven-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 13.3 cents lower than one month ago and 61.9 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped $2.06 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the sixth consecutive day, decreasing a half-cent to $3.078. It has dropped 2.9 cents over the past six days, including two-tenths of a cent Monday. The streak of decreases follows back-to-back increases totaling six-tenths of a cent.

The national average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago, 12.6 cents lower than one month ago and 29.1 cents below what it was one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.938 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
