The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County decreased Wednesday to its lowest amount since Dec. 29, 2022, dropping six-tenths of a cent to $4.459, the eighth decrease in nine days.
The average price has dropped 4.9 cents over the past nine days, including four-tenths of a cent Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose three-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.
The average price is 3 cents less than one week ago, 12 cents lower than one month ago and 62.5 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.035 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $4.374, one day after a seven-day streak of decreases totaling 4.3 cents that dropped the Orange County average price to its lowest amount since Dec. 27, 2022, ended with an increase of a half-cent.
The Orange County average price is 2.1 cents less than one week ago, 12.9 cents lower than one month ago and 56 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.085 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
A four-day streak of decreases to the national average price totaling 2.1 cents, including eight-tenths of a cent Tuesday, ended with an increase of three-tenths of a cent to $3.066. It is 1.8 cents less than one week ago, 11.1 cents lower than one month ago and 24.2 cents below what it was one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.95 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
