The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent Thursday to $4.458, its lowest amount since Dec. 29, 2022.

The average price has dropped nine of the past 10 days, decreasing 5 cents, including six-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose three-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.

The average price is 2.3 cents less than one week ago, 12.1 cents lower than one month ago and 60.6 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.036 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose three-tenths of a cent to $4.377, the second increase in three days following a seven-day streak of decreases totaling 4.3 cents that dropped it to its lowest amount since Dec. 27, 2022.

The Orange County average price is 1.1 cents less than one week ago, 12.4 cents lower than one month ago and 53.6 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.082 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose a half-cent Tuesday and dropped two-tenths of a cent Wednesday.

The national average price resumed dropping, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.063, one day after a four-day streak of decreases totaling 2.1 cents ended with an increase of three-tenths of a cent.

The national average price is 2.1 cents less than one week ago, 11.2 cents lower than one month ago and 23.2 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.953 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022. one day after a seven-day streak of decreases totaling 4.3 cents that dropped the Orange County average price to its lowest amount since Dec. 27, 2022, ended with an increase of a half-cent.
