USA Football’s Summer Series will return to Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson in June, bringing more than 1,000 athletes from across the United States and several countries to compete in flag football events, organizers announced Wednesday.
The three-day event June 19-21 will mark the third consecutive year the Carson complex has hosted the series, which features national team athletes, coaches and international competition as the sport continues to grow ahead of its debut in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
“We’re excited to return to Dignity Health Sports Park for this year’s Summer Series,” Callie Brownson, senior director of High Performance and National Team Operations, said in a statement. “With the 2028 Olympics on the horizon, Los Angeles is the perfect city to shine a spotlight on the growth of flag football, both in the U.S. and abroad.”
Organizers said the event will feature a series of competitions aimed at elevating the sport’s international profile.
“As we look ahead to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles and flag football’s Olympic debut, this continued partnership highlights our commitment to supporting world-class competition and community engagement,” Dignity Health Sports Park General Manager Adam Duvendeck said.
The Carson complex is slated to host Olympic events including rugby sevens, tennis, field hockey and track cycling, along with several Paralympic competitions.
