A teenage boy was killed Saturday and two other people were injured in a solo vehicle crash on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway near Industry.

California Highway Patrol officers were called at 1:30 a.m. Saturday to the junction of the southbound 605 and the Pomona (60) Freeway where they found the vehicle in a ditch, CHP Officer Megan Curtis told City News Service.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, Curtis said.

He was later identified as 17-year-old Sergio Lopez, according to the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner.

Two other people were taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

The CHP closed four lanes of the transition road from the southbound 605 Freeway and the 60 Freeway while they investigated the cause of the crash.
