A celebration of good food, and training people to prepare it, is on the menu in Venice.

The annual Chefsgiving will serve 150 invited guests at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Center with dishes prepared by some of LA’s finest chefs in celebration of St. Joseph Center’s 50th year of providing housing, mental health help, and job training to working poor and people experiencing homelessness.

Guests will feast on courses from Emporium Thai, Ashland Hill, Levain Bakery and dishes prepared by celebrity Chef Brad Miller.

“Chefsgiving is about more than food,” said Dr. Ryan J. Smith, St. Joseph Center’s President and CEO. “It’s about breaking bread together, honoring community and uplifting the next generation.”

One of St. Joseph’s programs is the Bread & Roses Training Kitchen which provides hands-on culinary and life skills training to people overcoming barriers to employment.
