A man was fatally injured Thursday when a wall collapsed in the rear of a home in the Vermont Knolls section of South Los Angeles.
Firefighters were called about 1:35 p.m. Thursday to the 7400 block of South Hoover Street, where the man was found beneath a collapsed block wall.
“Unfortunately, despite the efforts of all firefighters and paramedics involved, the patient was beyond medical help and determined deceased on scene,” Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
It’s unclear what caused the wall to fall.
