A 34-year-old man who died from injuries suffered during a collision while riding a motorcycle in Lancaster was identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office Thursday.

The rider’s name was Daniel Martinez, whose place of residence was not immediately available.

The crash occurred at 6:48 p.m. Sunday at 10th Street West and Avenue H, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Detective Jorge Diaz.

The preliminary investigation indicated that a woman driving a black sedan west on Avenue H was turning left onto 10th Street West and the motorcycle rider was eastbound on Avenue H when they collided, Diaz said.

Martinez was taken by ambulance to the Antelope Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead as a result of “multiple blunt traumatic injuries,” according to the medical examiner’s office.

Video from the scene showed the mangled motorcycle and damaged car in the intersection.
