The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will celebrate its fifth anniversary Sunday with free admission, a film screening, line dancing and other activities.
Free admission will be offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis, with no advance reservation required, according to the museum.
Visitors will have access to the museum’s galleries and exhibitions, including “Studio Ghibli’s PONYO.”
Activities will include ribbon making from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with participants invited to create personalized ribbons inspired by their favorite movies.
Beginner-friendly line dancing workshops will be held at 1 and 3 p.m. at the Walt Disney Company Piazza in partnership with Bootleg Linedance. Each workshop will last about 30 minutes.
Fresh Fruit by Ruth will offer esquites, or Mexican street corn in a cup, and aguas frescas from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the museum.
Fanny’s, the museum’s restaurant, will offer tacos and other food for purchase from noon to 5 p.m.
The museum will also present a free 2 p.m. screening of Steven Spielberg’s “Munich” in 35mm at the David Geffen Theater.
The 2005 film, starring Eric Bana, focuses on a Mossad agent who assembles a team to track down and kill men deemed responsible for the murders of Israeli hostages at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. The film received five Academy Award nominations, including best picture and director.
The Academy Museum is at 6067 Wilshire Blvd. and will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
