A pint-sized pig that made a viral run through the streets of West Hollywood was resting at an animal shelter Tuesday, with widespread interest in adopting it once it becomes available Thursday.

The black-and-white pig became an internet sensation after an e-bike rider spotted it running through West Hollywood on a street parallel to Fairfax Boulevard and posted video of the encounter on TikTok.

The speedy pig was eventually corralled and taken to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter, where it was resting comfortably in a pen Tuesday.

An animal control officer said the pig, dubbed Wilbur, will be held until Thursday morning to give its owner an opportunity to claim it. If the owner does not come forward, Wilbur will likely be offered through a silent auction to determine who gets to take the pig home, the officer said.

Anyone interested in adopting Wilbur should bring a credit card and arrive at 8 a.m. Thursday at the shelter, 11361 W. Pico Blvd. Prospective owners must demonstrate that their home is suitable for housing what is essentially a farm animal, according to the officer.
