An 83-year-old man who was being pushed across a street in a wheelchair when he was struck and killed by a vehicle in Orange was identified Thusday by the Orange County coroner’s office.
Vincent Banagale of Orange died at UC Irvine Medical Center, according to Orange police Lt. Fred Lopez and the coroner’s office.
The other two people, a husband and wife, were hospitalized in serious but stable condition, Lopez said.
The three were in a crosswalk in the 1700 block of West La Veta Avenue when they were struck around 6:30 p.m. Monday, but the driver said she did not see them, Lopez said. Police have not yet said whether the driver was cited or charged.
