An 84-year-old pedestrian struck and fatally injured by a van in Garden Grove was identified Thursday as Hoang Nguyen of Westminster.
The victim was walking across Brookhurst Street at Garden Grove Boulevard when a northbound van turning east struck him just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to Garden Grove police Lt. Ben Stauffer. The victim died at a hospital, he said.
The van’s driver remained at the scene and was questioned by police, Stauffer said. Police did not immediately determine if a citation or arrest is warranted.
