[symple_googlemap title=”Fatal crash” location=”Anaheim Boulevard near Lincoln Avenue, Anaheim, CA” height=”300″ zoom=”15″]A motorcycle rider killed in Anaheim when he swerved to avoid another vehicle, struck a curb and was thrown from the bike was identified Monday.

Fernando Velasquez, 41, of Anaheim died from injuries suffered in the crash on Anaheim Boulevard near Lincoln Avenue about 1:15 p.m. Sunday, according to the coroner’s office and Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn said.

Velasquez was southbound on Anaheim Boulevard and took evasive action when a vehicle entered the boulevard near Adele Street, Dunn said.

“He landed some distance away on the sidewalk,” Dunn said.

The bike continued a short distance and struck a parked car, Dunn said. Witnesses said the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed, Dunn said.

One driver stopped at the scene, he said.

No one was arrested or cited pending further investigation, Dunn said.
