A fire gutted a garage in Santa Ana Wednesday on the same property where a fire destroyed a vacant house two months ago, authorities said.
Firefighters sent to the 1600 block of East First Street at 5:40 a.m. extinguished the flames in the garage about 15 minutes, said Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority.
The cause of the fire was under investigation. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
On Feb. 17, a fire damaged a vacant two-story house at the same location, Concialdi said. The house was a total loss, and the cause of that fire remains under investigation, Concialdi said. The house was known to have been frequented by homeless people, he said.
