Two men who led police on a brief pursuit in Santa Ana while behind the wheel of an allegedly stolen car were in custody Monday, according to authorities.
Officers spotted the suspects in a vehicle that was reported stolen at gunpoint Sunday night, said Cpl. Anthony Bertagna of the Santa Ana Police Department.
The suspects gave chase and crashed into a parked car in the 2400 block of south Pacific Avenue at around 12:50 p.m., according to Bertagna.
They both fled on foot, he said. The passenger was first to be apprehended by a K-9 unit, Bertagna said.
The driver was found hiding in a trash can by the K-9 unit at 2:50 p.m., he said.
A gun found on the suspects is believed to be connected to a carjacking involving three suspects last night, according to the corporal.
The alleged carjacking happened at around 9 p.m. in the 300 block of West Anahurst Place, according to Bertagna.
