A 77-year-old man was charged Thursday with raping and continuously sexually assaulting a girl for nine years, according to court records.
John Walker Gunn, who was being held on $1 million bail, was arrested Tuesday by Orange County Sheriff’s deputies, according to jail records.
According to the criminal complaint filed Thursday against Gunn, he faces 17 felony counts ranging from rape, forcible oral copulation, sexual penetration of a child, sodomy and lewd or lascivious acts, dating back to as early as March 2006 and as recently as Tuesday.
Gunn was accused of raping the girl, who is at least 14 years old, on Tuesday, according to court records.
Orange County sheriff’s officials could not be immediately reached for more details. Messages left with the prosecutor, Deputy District Attorney Vanessa Woods, were not immediately returned.
