One man stabbed another during an argument outside Disneyland, police said Monday.

A 54-year-old transient was behind bars Monday — accused of attempted murder for allegedly stabbing another homeless man known for taking along his pet parrot when he greeted guests at Disneyland.

Tony Diep, who was housed in Anaheim’s jail Monday, got into a dispute with the 52-year-old victim about 10 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of South Harbor Boulevard, according to Anaheim police Lt. Eric Trapp.

At some point during the dispute, Diep stabbed the victim with a knife multiple times, Trapp alleged.

The victim was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in critical condition. He remained hospitalized today but was expected to survive, Trapp said.

Witnesses followed the suspect while in contact with police, and Diep was arrested about 100 yards north of the crime scene, Trapp said.

Orange County Animal Care officials picked up the victim’s parrot and will care for it for about a month, said Katie Ingram of OC Animal Care.
