
A pedestrian from San Francisco was struck and killed by a motorist in Newport Beach justb before midnight in Orange County, a police sergeant said Sunday.
The pedestrian was later identified as Mohamad Abdelwahhab, 36, of San Francisco, according to the coroner’s office.
No arrests were made and the driver was cooperative with police, said Newport Beach police Sgt. Josh Comte.
The crash was about 11:45 p.m. Saturday in the area of Von Karman Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard, Comte said.
