A man suspected of DUI crashed a small SUV into a utility pole on Beach Boulevard in Anaheim, downing power lines and closing part of the major roadway for several hours, police said.
It happened at 2:34 a.m. Monday at northbound Beach Boulevard and Ball Road, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Jeff Dodd.
The SUV driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Dodd said.
Northbound and southbound Beach Boulevard were expected to be closed to traffic from Ball Road to Cerritos Avenue for eight to 10 hours while the power lines were repaired, he said.
A news videographer at the scene said it appeared power was out to several businesses along Beach Boulevard.
