
Efforts were being made Friday to free an entangled adult Fin whale found about two miles off the coast of Dana Point, authorities said.

The Pacific Marine Mammal Center responded to the emergency, along with Sea World Rescue, fishing boats and whale-watching operators.
The whale was caught in some sort of marine line, according to the center’s executive director, Keith Matassa.
