A man involved in a love triangle dispute in Fullerton was hospitalized in serious but stable condition Thursday with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
The encounter left another unidentified man dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Fullerton Police officers on patrol heard gunshots about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Harbor Boulevard and Ash Avenue, and when they responded, one of the men turned the gun on himself, Fullerton police Sgt. Kathryn Hamel said.
Both men were taken to an area hospital, where one was pronounced dead, Hamel said. Both men were in their late 30s or early 40s, she said.
The man who shot himself was estranged from the woman, who was at the scene of the gunfire, Hamel said. The woman was not injured and was being questioned by police.
A parking control officer for the city witnessed the shooting, Hamel said.
