A weekend melee that left eight people with stab wounds and six others behind bars was touched off by a woman’s dispute with an ex- boyfriend, an Anaheim police sergeant said.

Jenny Reyes, 19, of Anaheim, got into an argument with her former boyfriend Saturday night and vowed to return later with her “homies,” Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt alleged.

Reyes and the ex-boyfriend, whose name was not released, are members of gangs, but not rival sets, Wyatt alleged.

Police were called to the 400 block of Sycamore Street about 1:20 a.m. and found eight stabbing victims at the scene — five females and three males, Wyatt said. None of their wounds were considered life-threatening, he said.

Two of the stabbing victims are female juveniles, one is a 45-year-old man and the others are in their late teens to early 20s, Wyatt said.

As police rushed to the crime scene, an officer spotted made a traffic stop at Lincoln Avenue and East Street, Wyatt said, and the six suspects were taken into custody without incident.

The other suspects were identified as Jose Segura, 21, Nancy Rodriguez, 24, Diana Ruiz, 22, Tony Ayala, 20, and a 17-year-old boy whose name was withheld because he is a juvenile, Wyatt said. They all reside in Anaheim.
