An intellectually disabled 18-year-old who went missing in Tustin was found safe in Costa Mesa, police said Wednesday.
Adan Valenzuela fled on foot in the area of Irvine and B Street at approximately 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, said Tustin Police Lt. Robert Wright. He was found about 9 p.m. Tuesday in Costa Mesa and has been taken back home to his family, Tustin Police Sgt. Sean Quinn said.
“I guess he had an argument with mom and decided to leave the house,” Quinn said. “… At some point he decided to walk back home.”
Quinn said Valenzuela was safe when officers found him.
“He’s been taken back home to his family,” Quinn added.
