Firefighters asked for the public’s help Wednesday in identifying a woman sought for igniting clothing at a Walmart store in Santa Ana several months ago.

The woman set clothing on a rack ablaze about 6 p.m. on Oct. 4 at the Walmart store at 3600 McFadden Ave., according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.

Store employees quickly doused the flames with a fire extinguisher, Kurtz said.

Surveillance video of the incident was released in the hopes it would help prompt helpful leads from the public.

The suspect was described as white or Latino and 35 to 45 years old, with long, brown hair with blond streaks.

Anyone with information was asked to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS. Anonymous tips are welcome.
