Police Wednesday released surveillance video images of vandals who have broken into a Huntington Beach nursery four times since last fall and taken vehicles on site for joy rides.
The vandalism at Monroe Pacific Nursery, 10449 Adams Ave., dates back to September, Huntington Beach police Officer Jennifer Marlatt said. The most recent rampage occurred last Thursday, she said.
Investigators suspect the vandalism is the work of four people, two of whom appear to be female, Marlatt said.
The vandals have taken a golf cart and John Deere Gator for joy rides, crashing them into hut houses and other property and running down the battery of both vehicles by leaving the lights on, Marlatt said.
The vandals also poured diesel fuel into one of the vehicle’s gas engines, damaging it, Marlatt said.
On April 3, one of the burglars stole a bike at the nursery, and last week, the thieves stole something from a vehicle, Marlatt said.
Anyone who has information that would help investigators track down the culprits was asked to call (714) 375-5066. Anonymous tips may be made to the Orange County Crime Stoppers organization at (855) TIP-OCCS.
