Orange County firefighters quickly put out a brush fire in the Black Star Canyon area that consumed one-half acre of vegetation, authorities said Sunday.
The fire was reported at 11:05 p.m. Saturday about one-half mile from the intersection of Black Star and Silverado Canyon roads, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Paul Holaday.
The fire had burned about one-quarter acre when firefighters arrived, and they limited the spread to one-half acre before flames were out at 11:45 p.m., Holaday said.
Crews remained on the scene to clear a line of vegetation around the burned area and watch for flare-ups, he said.
