Orange County firefighters quickly stopped a brushfire along a Brea roadside Monday morning, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 1:45 a.m. at Olinda Drive and Carbon Canyon Road, said Captain Larry Kurtz of the Orange County Fire Authority.
The forward spread of the blaze was stopped and the flames put out at 2:15 a.m. after the fire consumed 1 1/2 acres of land, Kurtz said. No structures were threatened.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, he said.
Firefighters were expected to remain on the scene a few hours reinforcing containment lines around the burned area, Kurtz said.
