A 59-year-old taxi driver from Anaheim pleaded guilty Tuesday to raping a customer and was immediately sentenced to eight years in prison.
Samy Gayed Hakim was accused by prosecutors last year of picking up a 36- year-old woman early Nov. 18, 2014, at a Huntington Beach bar to take her home.
The victim was raped in the vehicle outside her apartment complex while she was under the influence of alcohol, Roxi Fyad of the Orange County District Attorney‘s Office said at the time.
Hakim pleaded guilty to rape. Charges of rape by use of drugs, sexual penetration by using an intoxicating substance on a victim and sexual penetration by a foreign object were dismissed, according to court records.
