An Anaheim-based bulk mailing company paid $3 million to the federal government to settle a civil lawsuit alleging it defrauded the U.S. Postal Service out of postage fees, federal prosecutors announced Friday.

Advantage Mailing made the payment Wednesday. The company offers bulk mailings and provides design, printing and other mailing services.

Advantage officials, while agreeing to the settlement, did not admit any wrongdoing.

Postal authorities concluded Advantage had submitted bogus postage statements, which resulted in the agency getting shortchanged by millions of dollars, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
