Construction workers ruptured a gas line at a work site in Irvine Wednesday morning.
Orange County Fire Authority firefighters were called to the construction site at 16775 Von Karman Ave. at 8:37 a.m., said OCFA Capt. Larry Kurtz.
A small gas line was damaged, causing a minor leak, said Sergio Jimenez, a spokesman for the Southern California Gas Co. The leak was capped and workers were still on the scene Wednesday afternoon repairing the two-inch gas line, Kurtz said.
There were no injuries or evacuations.
Workers are advised to dial 811 two days before a job so Gas Co. workers can come to the site and mark where all the gas lines are located to avoid accidents, Jimenez said.
