A 34-year-old man accused of making an explosive device in his Anaheim mobile home while streaming his actions live on Facebook pleaded not guilty Friday to felony charges.
Jeff Edward Reece was charged Tuesday with one felony count each of possession of an explosive, possession of a destructive device in a private home and attempted arson of an inhabited property. He also faces a sentencing enhancement for a prior felony conviction for assault in 2011 in Oregon, according to prosecutors.
Reece’s alleged actions caused police to evacuate neighbors on Coronet Avenue last Friday night about 7:30 p.m., prosecutors said.
Reece allegedly made a Molotov cocktail while on Facebook Live. He also allegedly made threatening comments and turned on his stove, filling his mobile home with gas while using the Facebook Live feature, according to prosecutors.
He’s due back at the North Justice Center in Fullerton on Nov. 15 for a pretrial hearing.
