A 27-year-old convicted sex offender pleaded guilty Thursday and was immediately sentenced to more than 14 years in prison for committing lewd acts with a 15-year-old girl he was prostituting from behind bars.
Antonio Romano Caserta pleaded guilty to human trafficking of an underage victim, dissuading a witness by force, statutory rape and lewd acts on a child 14 or 15, according to court records.
Multiple other felony charges of lewd acts on a child were dismissed.
He was sentenced to 14 years and eight months in prison.
Caserta pleaded guilty Nov. 13, 2014, to statutory rape, sexual penetration by a foreign object with a victim younger than 16 and inducing a minor to buy or sell a controlled substance, all felonies, and was immediately sentenced to three years in prison, according to court records.
Caserta had sex with two underage girls before the 2014 plea, which is what landed him in prison, according to Huntington Beach Police Officer Jennifer Marlatt. Caserta kept in touch with one of them by phone while behind bars, Marlatt said.
Last year’s charges relate to what the inmate “had her commit to while talking to her on the phone,” Marlatt said.
