Authorities announced the arrest in Oregon of a 41-year-old suspect who had a dating relationship with a mother of three found dead inside her Huntington Beach home.
Jason Becher was arrested over the weekend, according to a Facebook post by the Huntington Beach Police Department. The white Lexus he was driving was still missing, according to police.
Marylou Sarkissian, 50, was found dead about 1 p.m. Friday after a friend of the suspect asked police to conduct a welfare check at the woman’s home in the 9000 block of Litchfield Drive based on comments that Becher allegedly made, Huntington Beach police spokeswoman Jennifer Marlatt said.
The victim’s 16-year-old son was home at the time but had no idea that his mother was dead, KCAL9 reported from the scene.
Becher was last seen in a white, 2015 four-door Lexus ES350 with California license plate 7MZP290, Marlatt said.
Sarkissian had recently broken up with the suspect following a turbulent relationship, according to KCAL9.
It was unclear if she and Becher lived together.
