Police again asked for the public’s help Monday tracking down a suspect who killed a 19-year-old man during an “industry party,” a gathering of car enthusiasts typically held in industrial areas.
The fatal stabbing occurred about 2 a.m. May 28, 2016, in the 1400 block of Manhattan Avenue, according to Fullerton Police Sgt. Jon Radus.
About 50 to 100 people were at the gathering of car enthusiasts when Brian Jefferson Sanchez of Anaheim was stabbed to death, police said last year.
Several fights had broken out during the party when Sanchez was stabbed to death, Radus said.
Police have questioned “numerous people” who were at the party, but investigators suspect there may be more witnesses and hope they come forward so detectives can identify a suspect, Radus said.
“Industry parties” often feature street racing and huffing on tanks of nitrous oxide, police said last year after the killing.
The partygoers initially met in the 1200 block of Claudina Way in Anaheim, then eventually moved to the 1400 block of Manhattan Avenue where the stabbing occurred, police said.
The victim’s fellow partygoers took him to a hospital in Anaheim, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Police responded to the hospital at about 2 a.m., according to police.
Anyone with information was asked to call detectives at (714) 738-6753 or (714) 738-6776. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
