Police Wednesday released the identity of a 19-year-old man fatally stabbed last weekend in an “industry party,” which are typically held in industrial areas and involve car enthusiasts.
About 50 to 100 people were at the gathering of car enthusiasts early Saturday when Brian Jefferson Sanchez of Anaheim was stabbed to death, so investigators are hoping witnesses come forward to help determine who killed him, Fullerton police Sgt. Kathryn Hamel said.
The parties often feature street racing and huffing on tanks of nitrous oxide, Hamel said.
The partygoers initially met in the 1200 block of Claudina Way in Anaheim, then eventually moved to the 1400 block of Manhattan Avenue where the stabbing occurred, Hamel said.
The victim’s fellow partygoers took him to a hospital in Anaheim, where he was pronounced dead, Hamel said. Police responded to the hospital at about 2 a.m. Saturday, she added.
Some sort of “verbal altercation” happened before the stabbing, Hamel said. It wasn’t clear what prompted the conflict.
