A pedestrian was killed in a collision on a freeway on-ramp Thursday in Arlington Heights and a delivery driver who stopped as required and tried to block the ramp had their vehicle carjacked.
The crash was reported about 4:40 a.m. on the Normandie Avenue on-ramp to the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to a CHP log, Los Angeles Police Department reported the pedestrian was possibly struck twice, and a second vehicle that left the scene may be involved.
The victim was in a crosswalk when they were hit, according to a report from the scene.
The on-ramp was closed.
