A man called Orange police Monday reporting that he had strangled his mother during a dispute.
The suspect, whose name was not immediately released, dialed 911 at about 2:45 p.m., according to Orange Police Sgt. Phil McMullin. The woman was choked to death in a house in the 5800 block of East Ridgemont Court, McMullin said.

The victim’s son remained on scene and was arrested, the sergeant said. He was being questioned by detectives Monday afternoon.
