Santa Ana police Friday asked for the public’s help tracking down suspects in two unrelated gas station robberies.
Just before 3 p.m. Aug. 14, a suspect walked into the Grand Gas Station at 2231 N. Grand Ave., punched a clerk in the face and then demanded cash, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
The robber took off with an undisclosed amount of cash in an older-model silver sedan east on Santa Clara Ave.
He was described as a man about 30 to 35 years old, who is 5-foot-10 and weighs about 190 pounds. He has a medium complexion and was wearing a blue shirt and shorts.
On July 29, in an unrelated robbery, two suspects locked the door to a Chevron at 400 E. 17th St. while grabbing cash out of the register, Bertagna said.
One suspect is a 25- to 35-year-old man with a fair complexion and muscular build. He is 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 and weighs about 180 to 200 pounds. The other suspect matches the same description but appeared to be 160 to 170 pounds.
Anyone with information was asked to call detectives at (714) 245-8545 or (714) 245-8362. Orange County Crime Stoppers will accept anonymous tips at (855) TIP-OCCS.
