A 3-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by an SUV in the driveway of the Tustin apartment complex he lived in, police said Wednesday.
The child was in the driveway with family members when he was struck by a Ford Explorer driven by a woman, an official said.
The boy’s family members immediately tried to help the young victim before officers arrived with medical help.
But the boy was taken to a hospital where he died.
The tragedy was reported at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday in the 15600 block of Pasadena Avenue, according to Tustin Police Sgt. Andrew Birozy.
The driver of the Explorer remained at the scene and was not hurt in the incident, said Birozy. “There have been no arrests or citations, and the cause of this collision is still under investigation.”
