Seal Beach police Saturday were looking for four men suspected of a hate crime and strong-arm robbery of two men.
The robbery happened about 7:15 p.m. Friday in the 10th Street Municipal Beach Parking Lot off 902 Ocean Ave., according to Seal Beach Police Sgt. Mike Henderson.
“The suspects made several derogatory comments about the victims’ same- sex relationship and threatened to harm the victims,” Henderson said. “A suspect then forcefully stole a cellular phone from one of the victims.”
The suspects fled the area before officers arrived, he said.
The suspects were described as white men in their early 20s with thin builds, Henderson said. They were 5-feet-9 to 5-feet-10 inches tall. One wore a gray or black hoodie with red writing, one wore khaki or green pants and red Converse shoes, one wore a black cap with marijuana leaves, shorts, Vans shoes and white mid-length socks and one wore a black sweat shirt.
Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Jeff Gibson at (562) 799-4100, extension 1109.
