A 25-year-old La Habra man was charged Monday with stalking about 15 women online dating back three years, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and court records.

Dominic Luis Magdaleno was charged with four counts of stalking and three counts of criminal threats, and a count of dissuading a witness from reporting a crime, all felonies, as well as five misdemeanor counts of annoying phone calls, according to court records. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered to return to court Dec. 19 for a pretrial hearing.

The oldest allegation dates back to Dec. 12, 2014 and the most recent was Oct. 26 of this year, according to court records.

The defendant was arrested Thursday at the La Habra Public Library, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The investigation started when a 19-year-old woman told authorities the suspect had been harassing her on Instagram, deputies said.

Deputies alleged that he has used Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr to “stalk, harass and threaten multiple female victims,” according to the sheriff’s department. Investigators say that at times he threatened to sexually assault, rape and kill some victims.

Magdaleno was also accused of sending unwanted text messages and emails to alleged victims.

Investigators suspect there may be more victims and asked anyone with information to call (714) 647-7000. Orange County Crime Stoppers will accept anonymous tips at (855) TIP-OCCS.
