A motorist is in stable condition at an area hospital after he struck a parked vehicle in Garden Grove, causing it to flip over, a police sergeant said Sunday.

“No one was in any of the parked vehicles and no bystanders were injured,” said Garden Grove police Sgt. Vincente Vaicaro.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at Haster Street, south of Lampson Avenue,  at little after 11:45 p.m. Saturday where a black sedan had been driving southbound on Haster and struck a vehicle parked on the west curb line, Vaicaro said.

“The force from the collision caused the parked vehicle to flip over and come to rest upside down,” he said.

Paramedics rushed the motorist to UCI Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
