A man allegedly shot his neighbor with a rifle Friday in Santa Ana and was being sought by police.
Officers responded about 7:20 a.m. to the 2100 block of South Orange Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting that just occurred, according to Santa Ana police.

The victim was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive, police said.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, 45-year-old Jose Luis Trujillo, and the victim were arguing.
“The suspect retrieved an unknown type rifle from his residence and shot the victim,” according to a police statement.
Trujillo left the scene in his vehicle.
“A search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence and multiple types of rifle ammunition were located,” police said. “The weapon used in this crime is still outstanding.”
Trujillo, who should be considered armed and dangerous, is Hispanic, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. His vehicle is a black 2006 Scion with the license plate number 7AIY437.
Anyone who spots Trujillo or the vehicle should not approach him but instead call 911 or (714) 245-8506 to speak with Santa Ana police Detective Capacete.
